Vision

The Hub Community Centre is a partnership between Trafford Council and Altrincham Baptist Chruch (ABC), providing a community building for Trafford residents from which to develop community. Offering a holistic and integrated approach to life, it's a place designed as a home-from-home for children and young people, families, adults and the retired. It is a place to relax; a place to participate – to discover new friends and develop new skills; a place to be cared for; a place to serve. It’s a place we trust you will leave having been refreshed in some way – whether body, mind or spirit.

Ethos

Offering a holistic and integrated approach founded on Christian spirituality, the Hub is a place of creativity and discovery. All are welcome to participate, and experience refreshing of body, mind and spirit. Because people matter, kindness and hospitality are offered unconditionally, as we celebrate life, nurture and support one another, and build community together.

Altrincham Baptist Church

Founded in 1878, ABC is a vibrant, all-age community of some 400 people from all walks of life, who are actively involved in making a different in Trafford, and beyond.

Regularly supported by dozens of volunteers, its staff provide a wide range of services to the local community, from cradle to grave.

ABC has a long history of community involvement, most significant of which include the following:

  • The establishment of a Child Contact Centre over 20 years ago
  • A thriving Toddlers Group
  • Involvement in local environmental projects at George V Pool and local beauty spots
  • Spearheading a campaign to get a canopy on Platform 1 at the Altrincham Interchange and establishing Friends of Altrincham Railway
  • Facilitating friendship links between 9 schools in Trafford and partner schools in Jinja, Uganda – through the establishment of the Trafford-Jinja Association
  • Sponsoring of 120+ AIDS orphans through their studies, to diploma level at the Nile Vocational Institute in Jinja, Uganda, through a scheme called UgandAid.
